Gulgong is located 295 km north-west of Sydney via Bells Line of Road and the Castlereagh Highway. It is 33 km north of Mudgee.

Gulgong is a town most of us have heard of because it's on our old 10 dollar note however not many people have visited this beautiful historical town, so I would also put this on the bucket list.

I come to know Gulgong very well because I had the honour of doing a wedding on a private property for a beautiful couple.

Gulgong is a beautiful historic  gold mining town which has over 130 heritage buildings that are still occupied. The main roads in town are the original tracks for horses and bullocks. The buildings a mostly single-storey weather board, iron, stone and brick buildings.

This was once a busy gold mining town to 20,000 people however today it is very much loved by a new generation of people who are focused on preserving the local history.

The best way to explore the town is on foot so make sure you have walking shoes on.
