Gosford, NSW

Gosford is like a mini city which is located in the heart of the Central Coast Region and only about 76 kilometres north of the Sydney CBD. It sits at the northern end of beautiful Brisbane Water which is an extensive of the northern branch of the Hawkesbury River  and Broken Bay.

Gosford is  also the administrative centre and CBD of the Central Coast and the third largest urban area in New South Wales after Sydney and Newcastle.

Things to see and do in Gosford and surrounding areas...

-  Visit Brisbane Water National Park in Woy Woy Rd, Kariong. There are beautiful walks or you can go cycling or enjoy a little fishing. The park also has ancient Aboriginal engraving sites and scenic views from the park's lookouts.

- Visit the Reptile Park in Somersby. This place is not just about snakes and lizards, you will find Australian wildlife including kangaroos, koalas, Tasmanian devils, cassowaries, dingos, Komodo dragons, and walk with Hugo, their giant Galapagos tortoise. I would  recommend getting there early so you can catch the educational shows.

Places to Eat

- Enjoy lunch or dinner  at The Bon Pavilion on Manns Street, Gosford. How lucky is Gosford to have such an amazing restaurant that offers mouth watering meals. The Bon Pavilion was purposely built  by John Singleton and has five drinking and dining dens, including an Espresso Bar, Bonfire grill restaurant, the chic Bon Bon Bar, the casual Public Bar and cellar door Bon Vin.

- Another place to enjoy a delicious meal is The Coast bar and restaurant. It is located on the  Iguana Wharf in Gosford over looking Brisbane Waters. I highly recommend their wood fired pizza's.
