Oh where to next ?
The Lost City, Zig Zig Railway
+
Glow Worm Tunnel
If you are heading to Lithgow via Bells Line of Rd you will find a few fun adventures to do.
Zig Zag Railway @ Clarence
Unfortunately the railway is not running as the 2013 + 2020 fires have done some damage. However, amazing volunteers have been busy repairing and replacing track, buildings, rolling stock and machinery in preparation for our reopening.
I would suggest you check the website for more details and updates See www.zigzagrailway.com.au for more details.
The Lost City
If you have a 4WD you will love exploring The Lost City.
To find the lost city you will need to turn into The Old Bells Line of Rd at Clarence just before the Zig Zig railway. The road is bumpy but lots of fun.
The Lost City are formations of sheets of ironstone sandwiched between layers of sandstone the formations have weathered so they look like a series of dramatic, conical Asian pagodas. The sandstone was laid down by a massive river delta that flowed across the area about 230-250 million years ago. No one knows where the iron came from or how the formations occurred. It is not easy to find and, as such, is a very accurately named destination.
There are no shops so remember to bring your own food and water. There is a picnic site at Bungleboori point that you can relax and enjoy.
There is some interesting information on the Blue Mountains website about the area .....

Please Note: No caravan or van access.....Strictly 4WD !!!!
The Glow Worm Tunnel
The walk to the tunnel is beautiful and exciting. It is like stepping back in time to a world where dinosaurs were masters.
The tunnels are in the some area as the Lost City so follow the Old Bells Line of Rd to Old Coach Rd where you will find a carpark. The rest of the way is on foot along the Glow Worm Tunnel Track.
It is a good idea to bring a torch as part to the tunnel is dark.
