Driving around with kids can be testing at times and hearing "are we there yet" every few minutes can hit a nerve or two. Luckily we live in a creative country and home to many big things, so take advantage of these big things and enjoy a break.
Many big things are usually at interesting stops and ideal to wonder around and stretch your feet.
![]() The Gold PannerBathurst, NSW The Big Gold Panner sits outside the Gold Panner Hotel in Kelso just outside Bathurst. He knees on one knee and carefully inspects his tin pan for nuggets of gold. It beautifully represents the gold rush era. It was erected in 1979 and stands more than five meters tall. Location: 250 Sydney Rd, Kelso NSW 2795 | ![]() Big Fruit BowlBilpin - Blue Mountains, NSW. The fruit bowl sits in front of a fruit market that sells beautiful fresh produce. Prefect place to stop for a snack and if you are up there in May you can pick your own fruit. Location: 2093 Bells Line of Road Bilpin NSW 2758 | ![]() The Big MarinoGoulburn, NSW The Big Merino is actually a shop that’s sells wool products. It was built in 1985 as monument to Goulburn to represent the wool industry. The Marino standing 15.2 meters high, his18 meters long and weighing 97 tones. He was model after a life-like model of Rambo, a stud Ram from a local property, “Bullamallita”. |

![]() Big OysterThe Big Oyster is found in Taree and was officially opened by Nick Greiner, the Premier of New South Wales, in 1990. It was paid for by Louis and Attila Mokany who had also built the Big Prawn in Ballina and the Big Merino in Goulburn. Today, it is the office of Nissan in Taree. |
